Turbocharger Exhaust Containment
Change rule #2 on page 18 under EXHAUST SYSTEMS to read:
2. All turbocharged engines must have a star containment ring/devise installed in the V band area PLUS two (2) 1/2″ Grade 5 bolts in horizontal portion of exhaust pipe(s), must be installed in cross pattern 90 degrees to each other, within one (1) inch of each other, as close to turbine exhaust wheel as possible OR the cross bolts in turbo exhaust housing, installed by turbo manufacturer.
In rule #14 on page 22 under SAFETY, delete “ahead of engine”, rule will now read:
14. All vehicles carrying onboard batteries must have quick disconnect method. Switch to be located in a visible location.
On page 31, rule #25 under SUPER STOCK TRACTORS, delete the last sentence which reads: “Diesel Super Stock and 9500# Limited Pro Stock vehicles may run in the Pro Stock class weighing 10,000 lbs.”
On page 38, rule #6 under TWO WHEEL DRIVE TRUCKS, change to read:
6. Vehicles have the option of not having front windshield and/or rear glass installed in their vehicle for safety reasons. Factory tint is acceptable. Stained or smoked glass is not allowed on any windows. Tinted windows that impair track officials view of driver’s compartment is unacceptable.
Rule changes from the January 7, 2024 ITPA Board of Directors meeting.
The wording was changed on the rule passed at the December 10, 2023 meeting (Page 22, rule #14 under Safety) to read:

Page 22 under Safety, add rule #17 to read:
17. No visible illumination (white or colored) on the vehicle shall be visible to the track officials while the vehicle is hooked to the sled. Exception will be reverse, neutral safety and back up lights. Indicator lights on the dash that are visible to the operator only will be allowed.
Light Super Stock
Page 30, rule #11 under Super Stock Tractors, change 6400# to 6600# for ag chassis vehicles and diesel component vehicles. Vehicles with 436 cubic inches or less allowed to weigh 6600 lbs.
Pro Stock
Page 33, rule #1 under Pro Stock Tractors, change to read:
1. The only turbocharger allowed will be a 5 inch Wimer box turbocharger with no modification. In case of a protest, turbocharger will be sent to Wimer for inspection and if found modified, competitor will receive a life time suspension. No intercoolers allowed.
Page 33, rule #6 under Pro Stock Tractors, add the following:
Block must accept OEM crankshaft. Block must have head bolts that remain in OEM location.Camshaft must be in OEM location.
4WD Trucks
Page 27, under Four Wheel Drive Trucks, change to read:

Page 45, rule #3 under 9500# Pro Farm, change to read:

For the 2025 pulling season, the turbocharger to be used in the 6850# Pro Farm division will be a Borg-Warner S366SXE box turbocharger.
Light Modified
Change the weight allowed on blown Hemi automotive powered vehicles from 5800 lbs. to 6000 lbs.
Change the weight allowed on Allison engine powered vehicles from 5600 lbs. to 5700 lbs. (Correction, sorry for the error)
Blown wedge-type automotive engine allowed to run any head.

Clutches, Flywheels and Automatics
Change rule #21 on page 12 under Clutches, Flywheel and Automatics to read:
21. All bellhousings regardless of material i.e. steel, titanium or aluminum must display a legible SFI sticker affixed by the manufacturer. No modifications allowed.

Summary of Causes for Disqualification
Rule #8 on page 56 changed to read:
8. No consumption of alcoholic beverages before or during pull. Any competitor or any of his crew incapacitated due to intoxicating agent, and/or drugs, his or her pulling vehicle will not compete for duration of pull.
Heavy Modified Class
Rules for the present Heavy Modified class were changed to Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pulling Association Modified rules. Weight will be 7400# with a minimum purse payout of $5,200, 1st – $1200, 2nd – $1000, 3rd – $900, 4th – $800, 5th – $700, 6th – $600.

All ITPA classes: Drawbar must be painted white or contrasting color of vehicle.
Light Super Stock – Vehicles with 436 cubic inches or less allowed to weigh 6400 lbs.

Super Stock Tractors
Page 30 under SUPER STOCK TRACTORS: rule #12 changed to read:
All turbocharged engines are required to have two (2) 3/8″ cables with a minimum of 4 clamps at the splice or crimps with a coupler on each side. One cable to be placed between first and second cylinder through exhaust manifold port area. Second cable around the engine anywhere in the front half of engine. Both cables circle the entire head/block assembly with a maximum of 4″ slack.
OR
A cable must be minimum of one (1) 3/8″ manufactured pendant line with a rating of at least 3000 lbs. or more with a tag from manufacture that indicates rated load capacity with swaged sockets. Placed between first and second cylinder through exhaust manifold port area.
Same rule to be added on page 16 under ENGINES as rule $18.
Same rule to replace rule #32 on page 50 under PRO STOCK DIESEL TRUCKS.

Due to the low number of Pro-Street Diesel Truck competitors, that division will not be offered in 2021 and these competitors will be allowed to compete in the 7800# Pro Stock Diesel Truck class weighing 8000 lbs. with their present class rule restrictions.

Driveline Shielding (this applies to all divisions except Antique and Classic)
The following rule applies to all divisions that use solid driveline shields over 16 inches in length (Note: this also applies to Mini Rod division and the intermediate shaft on FWD trucks): All driveline shield components must be tethered on each end by two opposing restraints. Tethers must attach at 180 degrees of each other and a minimum of 3″ and a maximum of 6″ from each end of each driveline shield component.
Tether to be constructed of a minimum of 2″ wide by 1/8″ thick nylon or polyester strap. One end of tether must attach to one side of the chassis, then go around the driveline shield, then attach to the other side of the chassis. Tether must be attached to chassis by a minimum of one 3/8″ grade 5 bolt with a grommet on each side or wrap around the chassis and use a buckle to fasten it to itself.
Note: FWD drivelines that use driveshaft hoops must use same tether configuration to be attached to main or common hoop holder between chassis and hoop assembly.
Pro Stock
The rule passed in December 2019 regarding Pro Stock turbocharger proposal for the 2021 pulling season was amended to read: Proposed for 2021, Pro Stock turbocharger will be a 5.7″, smooth bore, box turbocharger.

General Rules (this applies to all divisions)
Add rule #4 on page 6 under GENERAL RULES, Brakes to read (changed from December meeting):
Maximum one master cylinder (pressure source), per wheel supplying each caliper(s) though a single supply line (must be visible). May be multiple piston/puck design caliper(s). No electronic or computer controlled line lock or proportioning valves of any type, whether in line or internal, allowed. Applies to drivetrain brakes as well as wheel brakes. Manual residual pressure valve will be allowed before brake caliper(s).
Antique and Classic
Change the first sentence in rule #2 on page 39 under ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC to read: Tractors should be restored to as near original as possible with original hood, original radiator and original appearing fuel tank.

Drawbars must be parallel to the ground , with the exception of 4WD Trucks.

7800# Pro Stock Diesel Trucks
Rule #17 on page 49 under PRO STOCK DIESEL TRUCKS was changed to read:
“Engine must remain in stock location. Forward most part of engine block must not exceed 17″ forward of the centerline of the front axle. Maximum engine size is 460 cubic inches. Engines may be changed to cross factory lines of manufacturing (Cummins may be put in a Ford or Chevrolet). Engine must come in 1 ton or smaller truck. Engine must be OEM replacement or its replica. A replica to be considered must retain stock bore spacing and operate with the stock crankshaft for the model without alterations for chassis mounting. Aftermarket/recasted/billet heads allowed. Engine side shields required. (see rule #1 under ENGINES).”
By-law changes:
1. Northern Zone was eliminated due to lack of membership(2). Southern Zone stays the same. Western Zone is west of Interstate 55, then west of Interstate 39 and north of Interstate 70. Eastern Zone is east of Interstate 55, then east of Interstate 39 and north of Interstate 70.
2. You must be an I.T.P.A. member by August 1 on the current year to be eligible to vote at your zone meeting.
3. Individuals must be an I.T.P.A. member for two consecutive years before being eligible to be on the I.T.P.A. Board of Directors.

Any 6 cylinder Oliver 99 tractor allowed a maximum of 2024 engine rpms.
5800# Modified
For the 2019 pulling season: Allison powered vehicles to weigh 5600#, blown automotive engine vehicles with 8-71 supercharger at 60% maximum overdrive to weigh 5800# and turbine powered vehicles to weigh 6000#.
Blown automotive engine tractors with wedge heads that will accept a stock OEM intake manifold bolt pattern, with 14-71 supercharger at maximum 40% overdrive OR any smaller supercharger at any overdrive will be allowed to weigh 6000#.
Super Stock
Page 29, rule #11 change to read: In the 8200# Super Stock class, alcohol vehicles weigh a maximum of 8200# and diesel vehicles weigh a maximum of 9000#, both with 200# moveable weight.
9500# Limited Pro Stock

A By-Law change was made: Effective December 7, 2018, the Northern Zone to be eliminated. The Eastern Zone will be East of Interstate 55, then East of Interstate 39 and North of Interstate 70. The Western Zone will be West of Interstate 55, then West of Interstate 39 and North of Interstate 70. No change in the Southern Zone, South of Interstate 70.

Turbo – allowed to run one turbocharger with the inlet on the compressor side of the turbo limited to a maximum of 3.00 inches. One (1) 360 degree map enhancement groove allowed, not to exceed .250 inch in width. Compressor wheel must protrude into 3″ bore opening at least 1/8 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and map groove are prohibited.
